Hawthorn Small School is not open. It is expected that we will open as a school in September 2026.
Our school
We will be recruiting to multiple roles. You can join as a:
Curriculum facilitators (Teachers)
We will be looking to recruit a number of experienced teachers to join our team and work with, and facilitate the curriculum in partnership with leadership and, crucially, our students. We will be looking for teachers experienced in facilitating English literature and language, British Sign Language, foreign languages, humanities, maths, science, art, 3D design, and music.
From September 2024 will will be looking to recruit two curriculum facilitators to our two primary classes.
Therapeutic needs facilitator
We will be looking to recruit a therapeutic needs facilitator. This is a varied and exciting role focusing on directly supporting special educational needs and disabilities and providing pastoral care across the school, working in collaboration with the SENDCo and Pastoral lead.
Learning facilitators
We will be looking to recruit a number of learning facilitators who are passionate about supporting and nurturing students aged between 11 and 15 initially. Experience in working in schools, as a teaching assistant, working in mental health or working with teenagers or neurodivergent people will be beneficial.
From September 2024 we will also need two learning facilitators to work in our primary classes.
Organisation facilitators
We will be looking to recruit an executive assistant, a part-time administrator and a part-time caretaker/facilities assistant towards the end of 2023.
